Checkpoint Two - Location

First two location shots.. Am pretty happy with how both of these turned out.. I feel that they are both strong images.

I am going to play with angles and distance throughout the series.. Although I am thinking the first one, how he has "no idea" about the camera being there will be how I want the series in the end.. Will see..

Am looking forward to shooting this weekend, my shot on Northbourne Ave with car lights.. Hopefully I can get it to work how I see it in my head! haha.. :)

Checkpoint Two - Studio

Three more studio shots that were shown at Checkpoint Two... Am really enjoying this series.. So many amazing and beautiful women to photograph! :-)

Location Location

Location folio is where I was struggling.. I wasnt sure exactly what I wanted.. I had two different ideas in my head and did one shoot which failed miserably and went again on the weekend which was a success! Did one shoot in Garema Place and another in a back alley in Civic.. Hopefully have two shots complete, with more to come! Will post up images in the coming days!

Studio

Studio folio is coming along nicely.. Have so far photographed 8 women.. Am hoping to end up with a series of 15-20 women.. Here are three that are complete that I showed at Checkpoint.. Will post more in the coming days of more recent shoots..

Studio test shoot

Here is one of the images from my studio test shoot.. it looks a bit funny on here.. blogger has changed it a bit..
anyway, this is what I want my studio portrait series to look like.. I am very happy with the lighting... may play with it a bit depending on the colouring of the skin of my models..

Final Semester Folios

I've decided to focus on two separate folios this semester... One being studio portraits and the other being environmental portraiture.. My studio folio will be black and white head shot portraits of Indigenous Australians.

I originally got my idea after researching John William Lindt & Paul Folesche's works. Here are two examples of Lindt's works that helped me come up with my idea. Originally I wanted to re-create these types of photographs, using Indigenous people from the community that I live in. My idea has slightly changed and I will be doing tight head shots instead of including half of the body..
